Text Box: GPC Neighbor To Neighbor Christmas Cookie Outreach December 16, 2007

Text Box:         On Sunday, December 16, 2007, GPC celebrated the first of many “Worship Services of Service” by reaching out to those living near the church. Over 9,000 cookies were baked by member of congregation, packaged and distributed by worshippers during the 10:22 service to over 1,000 residences surrounding GPC. Supported by prayer while they distributed, 160 members of the Grace congregation blanketed the homes within a block, returning with joy and stories. Back at the church, everyone recounted their experiences over a meal together.         Teaching that Christians are to GO into the community around them and share the love of Jesus, Pastor Tom challenged GPC, asking whether anyone would notice if suddenly Grace Church disappeared. The Christmas Cookie Outreach is the beginning of an ongoing program to build bridges to the community.
